堪萨斯大学University of Kansas建校于公元1862年，占地约950公亩。校内博物馆、研究中心林立，校方亦提供有相当多的奖学金机会给研究生。堪萨斯大学拥有14个学院(Academic Schools)、200多项专业课程，今年约有29,000位学生入学。根据2004年Fiske Guide to Colleges，堪萨斯大学是全美就读后投资报酬率最高(the Best Buys of 2004 list)的公立大学之一(全美仅有22所公立大学上榜)。堪萨斯大学上榜的原因，根据杂志分析是：价格合理且师资齐全。堪萨斯大学所聘雇的专任教师就有2,100人之多，其中92%拥有该学术领域的最高学历与权威。

堪萨斯大学商学院the KU School of Business成立于1924年，目前有全职教师80名和1500名在读生。堪萨斯大学商学院企业管理和会计两个项目获得AACSB认证。2009年U.S. News & World Report,最佳商学院排名中，堪萨斯大学商学院在公立商学院中排名28名。堪萨斯商学院的本科会计专业非常不错。
