这是一所当之无愧的顶尖精英高中，藤校录取率高达25%（2011年数据），学校距离费城市中心仅10英里，占地60多英亩。

学校有两个“顶级”，拥有世界顶级的物理试验室；机器人项目号称世界前三。

机器人队在2012年FIRST机器人竞赛(FRC)中摘得桂冠，这个比赛每年有超过4万名高中生参加。

格莱美奖女歌手Rosanne Cash出生于1955年5月24日，是以为美国创作歌手兼作家行走音乐之路转眼20年已过，这段不算短的乐坛生涯里，Rosanne总计发表过11张专辑作品。

Iain Haley Pollock ’00,毕业于福特学院英语专业，并且他取得了雪城大学艺术硕士学位。现在是Springside Chestnut Hill Academy的英语老师，同时他的作品常常出现在双月刊《美国诗歌评论》、《波士顿评论》等文学刊物中。他也是2010年科尼姆诗歌奖的获得者。

2011年12月8日， 戏剧社的小演员们每年上演两出隆重的剧目，一出是秋季音乐剧，一出是春季竞赛类剧目。下图是由Ms. Gress 执导的在12月上演的“Annie,Get Your Gun,”以19世纪末为背景的音乐剧。

在一年一度的校友论坛上，美国国会议员Pat Meehan作为特邀发言人，和学生们在关于美国政府的AP课程上共享私人空间，讨论国家问题。

Best of Fair at George Washington Carver Science 

Fair (for all Philadelphia students in grades 11 and 12) for the fourth time in the past eight years. 

• As part of the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership, interested student-applicants are selected to participate in a venture incubator program where they have the opportunity to work on their own 

ventures under the guidance and tutelage of accomplished entrepreneurs and professionals. 

• Since launching a video studio in 2007, SCH students have earned 9 top prizes—for animation, narrative, experimental, and editing—in city-wide media and film festivals.
